Thought we don’t know the exact date when Jesus rose from the dead, we do know that it happened. I’ve found that most often when folks scoff at the notion of Christ coming back to life after the crucifixion, it’s not because they have examined the evidence and found it lacking, but rather they have a personal agenda to not accept it. The proofs of the resurrection of Christ are enormous. It is because of that resurrection that we can know Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was sufficient for us. Our sins can be forgiven. But in addition to that, we can live a new life in the here and now. I’m reminded that Jesus once said that he came, “that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10) Now that sounds a lot more exciting than what most people are experiencing today. So, we’ll actually be starting a new series on the Easter Sunday called “From Strife to Life”. This Sunday we’ll be getting ready for Easter and looking at some ways we can all share this hope with our friends who don’t know the love of Christ. Easter! It all reminds me of an old hymn by Bill Gaither called, “Because He Lives”. Enjoy and we’ll see you Sunday.

Because He Lives.

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

And then one day, I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to vict’ry,
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
