How can one sum up everything that we have experienced in a short post? Well we obviously can’t no matter how hard we try. It all kind of reminds me of Paul’s farewell to the Ephesian Elders in Acts 20:13-36 as we also make this step of faith on our end. As Paul left he encouraged the leaders and also challenged them to bravely go forward. He then spoke of his going onward because he was “compelled by the Spirit.” So much of what Paul said to those saints almost 2000 years ago speaks to our present situation today.

God had planted the church in Ephesus through the efforts of Paul and others and they went forward. They had a bright future and so does NHCC. The leadership team at New Horizons has invested prayer, time, energy, and more in leading the way ahead. They truly believe the words of Paul in Philippians 1:6; “being confident of this, that HE who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” They know that it was God who saw the birth of this great young fellowship and will continue to build it. The leadership team is going forward and honestly there is a part of me that is saddened that I won’t be here to see all that God does through you in the upcoming years. But I know it will be awesome.

On our end, like Paul, we are moving forward with a compelling that we can’t quite put our finger on. We just know that as God used us five years ago to move to Rancho and plant NHCC He is now calling us to another task. At present we don’t yet know the specifics of that call. We have begun discussions with folks in Dallas regarding an established church family and also conversations about new works in the area. But we do know that God watches over all of our “comings and goings both now and forever more.” (Ps. 121:8) We do know that God will continue to guide you and us as we all move forward in this grand adventure we call the Kingdom of God.

I can’t wait to see you all Sunday as we celebrate together all that NHCC is and will be. In fact, I’m already looking forward to coming for a visit a year from now and seeing all that God has done through you.

I love you folks and we’ll see you soon.
