kingdom-2.jpgYesterday’s service was exciting as we started the sermon series over the Kingdom of God.  Actually, the whole morning was great and we need to give a huge thanks to our music team as they led us in corporate worship.  I’m so thankful for our worship teams and really for our whole church family.  For the sermon, we looked at an overview of the Kingdom of God and Heaven and yes I preached a bit longer than usual.  But the topic of the Kingdom is just too enormous to quickly brush over.  When we get a grip on this reality of God’s invisible kingdom being played out in our lives today, it just changes everything.  So we will spend the next few weeks examining various aspects of this reality.  Coming this next Sunday, we’ll look at the reality of the spiritual warfare that exists between the Kingdom of Light (God) and the Kingdom of Darkness.  If you have any questions, thoughts, or comments about the subject or the sermon, feel free to leave them.  If you were not able to attend the gathering yesterday, we have uploaded a copy of the message and you can check it out on the site.  Have a great week and we’ll see you Sunday.

Good point Debi. The apostle Paul noted that “now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face.” But I guess that’s why its called faith. Trusting in God’s goodness even in those seasons when we don’t have a clue as to what’s going on. It may in deed just be a time when God is glorifying himself through our own faith.

I have been reading in the book of Job about when God says to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job?”. That single question started some horrific events in Job’s life. Job couldn’t explain it. His only conclusion was that he must demand a hearing with God to determine why God would allow this defamation of his character. But we saw into the spiritual world and knew what was going on. We cheered for Job to not curse God, and he didn’t. But it does not say anywhere in scripture that God ever explained to Job why he had to go through that horrible test. But now in Christ, we can see into the many mysteries of the spiritual realm. I wonder how many times we are going through a trial and it all started with God asking Satan, “Have you considered my servant (your name)?”.
